montrea...l...MORRISBURG! COPS!

so last weekend me and my ladies (Betty, Dalida, &Christina) headed to Montreal... almost.
on our way there we were pulled over for speeding, asked to exit the highway to a suclooded closed gas station for the officer to tell us he's taking our car away, and Christina's licence.... and we had to figure out what to do, in the middle of no where.
basically we all thought we were going to die, went to some sketchy hotel we made the cop take us too after our car got towed by a flat bed then CABBED to montreal...

CABBED TO MONTREAL, from MORRISBURG(population 800) after having a bunch of drinks at McIntosh Inn... we all look so happy

so in the morning when we got to montreal we drank a bunch of THIS.......
montreal was alright though- i got to see my sister and checkout a rad vegan restaurant, rented a car on the way home and a semi truck almost hit us... honestly had to swerve out of the way.. so rediculous..

the rest of my week had much bad luck, losing my bus pass, going out for drinks only to get a drink poured on me and fights at the end of the night.

nate's birthday was this week we went out the the KEG for dinner( ya- go figure a vegan at the keg.... ) that was nicee

today i attended the LOREAL COLOR TROPHY SEMI-FINALS!!supporting marilisa and dalida who WON and now they're in the FINALS!!! in montreal in august!! so we had a day of live seminars which was great to see, be inspired a bit.. etc

tomorrow nate's tattooing me for a couple hours on my right upper arm so i'll have 2 sleeves now, yay!!! he's moving to montreal at the end of the week ill miss him loads but its for the best, his lady lives there :)

i think it's time for me to hot tub... mmm

so since i havent posted in a month i figured it was time.

the last month has been pretty crazy yet slow.
my boyfriend and i spent most of my time together, if i wasnt working. he moved into my building, things started to get pretty serious, and then we brokeup last night. :-/

besides that being depressing, myself and 2 girls from the salon were ordering these 3 himalayan kittens of the net from california, turns out it was all animal fraud and they were fake. thanks to me being an internet geek and figuring it out an hour before we wired them 600$

that happened before me and james brokeup.

then this weekend i did a photoshoot with marilisa with photographer chris chapman and designer david dixon, which was for his website and Elle Magazine, pretty fuckin awesome.

this weekend is valentines day, (go figure i'm let down again) so myself, and 2 girls from the salon are heading to Montreal to party hardy, not to mention be my sister's valentine, and Nate& his gf Sarah will be there so we'll all go for drinks too.

next month Callahan is back on tour, and kim and i will be going with them to a few shows outside of Toronto, so it'll be nice to tour around, renting a car, hopefully seeing some friends in Ottawa, etc.

APRIL is a different story, it's my birthday on the 3rd. my 21ST!!!
so heres the plan, Emarosa will be playing on the 5th then i will be in NEW YORK CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!! celebrating being legal everywhere in the WORLD with Marilisa!!

im looking forward to the coming months, im just super bummed out right now.
besides the fact my boss yelled at me today, and i havent been yelled at like that since i was probably 13, he apologized. but i almost cried.

bad week... bad bad week. :(

TWO THOUSAND AND EIGHT (in a blogpost)

i realize its taken me half of the first month in 2009 to write this, but here we go 2008:

JANUARY
my nephew keigan was born the day i was headed to toronto to film superstar hair challenge(jan10th), the reality tv show marc anthony put on which changed my life forever, as i became the final 4th contestant, and met some of the most amazing people of my life.

FEBRUARY
back to life in van, right before i went back to toronto i flew justin benson( who i was dating at the time) to vancouver so we could take a trip to seattle and see one of our favorite bands, Converge. it was soo much fun having a hotel and i took my car there also so it was pretty exciting., the day we got back to van i headed to toronto the next morning again to take the vidal sassoon's creative cutting course with chris and james! which is where i actually got ALL my hair cut off into a bowl cut, GAH! and i got to see some people from the tv show that meants a lot to meee! :)

MARCH
working at axis, got the call from vidal sassoon they wanted me for training for april 15th, so in a matter of a few weeks i packed up my life and headed to toronto, spent the last 3 weeks crazy busy, garrett ryan from la coming to say goodbye, and a going away party that suckd, many dates before i left to say goodbye, a few days in victoria to say goodbye, it was a hard goodbye... but preparing me for my career which i had no idea what was about to come...

APRIL
my 20th birthday, my first month in toronto, not knowing a lot of people, i purchased a bicycle, met a few people, and worked at vidal sassoon. met jen gillen, who changed my life. my sister kookie also came to visit in the middle of the month, and a good friend colin minihan had come from van for the music video awards at the beginning (he makes music videos and had a nomination!)

MAY
superstair hair challenge premiered, had the party with karen(contestant) at tortilla flats and started getting noticed on the street! my fine new buddy jen gillen, took a trip to montreal for the long weekend with her, began to hate vidal sassoon because i wasnt even being trained nor was i allowed to do hair. and also my new best buddy mathew who worked at the bike shop across the street from my house, my summer of biking and beer drinking while making burgers began..

JUNE
superstar hair challenge continued to get me los of exposure, continued at vidal sassoon hating my job spen a lot of time bikeriding with jen gillen and decided after speaking to marc anthony after and ET interview it was for the best that i worked for HIM! also had the pleasure of a new friend sarah-amalia coming into my life, she lived with me for the next 3 months, and also she was pregnant, which ive never been with anyone who has been, so i got to experience her first ultrasound with her and everything, it was a truely amazing experience.

JULY
started at Marc Anthony, but before i started i ventured to a couple places in ontario with friends CALLAHAN touring across canada, which was amazing to see them again!

AUGUST
continued with Marc Anthony, but was asked to do the advertisment publicity shots with Marilisa(Marc Anthony's artistic director< one of my inspirations.) for a new tv show on Space network called The Circuit! and spending a lot of time with jen, decided matching tattooes for our love of guacamole at our fave nacho place sneaky dees was appropriate!

SEPTEMBER
after serious complications, sarah-amalia decided it was for the best she ventured to her hometown in edmonton with her mother, and i moved into a bigger house which i was very excited about... for the first week.
september brought a lot of changes, the first week garrett ryan and jagoda janik two of my really good friends came from LA, and Vancouver to visit for 2 weeks, my kitty Twinkie from Victoria was flown here to be reunited with me at last, but then Garrett and Jagoda helped me come to realize beause i hadnt, my house had cockroaches!
so sleeping became not an option, because i had complications with the lanlord who refused to do anything yada yada took him to court (which was in december) but learned a serious lesson about toronto housing and lanlords, they FUCKING SUCK.
during this month, i had a lot of career advances though! i participated in many shows which Mariilsa had requested me on set for, the beginning started with the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by the DSQUARED2 Fashion show hosted by Gene Becker (Fashion Televisions main broad) which also AIRED on Fashion Television, which is one of my main goals in life, the fact that i had accomplished it was an amazing thing.)
then the Cashmere Event Fashion Show, which is a fashion show a bunch of designers get together and make gorgeous gowns out of Cashmere tiolet paper to raise breast cancer awareness, it was amazing!
THEN, it was my mothers birthday September 21st, and i decided since i had been in toronto for 6 months i should suprise her, so i headed to vancouver and victoria for a few days end of september, which was so great to see everyone i did :)
and to finish the month off i had the Annual Fashion Cares launch party, which was hosted to preview the theme for the FashionScares show in October!

OCTOBER
spent the whole month working, dealing with cockroaches and moved out! into a brand spankin nice place right downtown toronto, its a very small bachlor but really nice, had a hot tub sauna billiards room gym and study room with free wifi! halloween i went as a playboy bunny!!!

NOVEMBER
the beginning began with FashionScares on the first, an amazing Mac Cosmetics huge fashion show for AIDS awareness, i was so happy i could participate in and see my hair walking down a huge runway and on a massive screen was honestly breathtaking for me.... never did i think this would happen to me sooo soon...
and THEN i was asked to do 2 episodes of the MOM SHOW! where i did makeovers on the tv show, for next season which i will keep everyone posted when it will be on early next year since its next seasons! the end of november approaching CALLAHAN headed here on their tour, but their east coast tour ended up being cancelled so 2 weeks was spent in toronto basically, which was soooo much fun, having a ton of my best friends, hot tubbin and basically getting osooooo drunk every night.. hahaha amazing times

DECEMBER
court at the beginning to get the lanlord shit done and settled once and forall, my sister kelly came with me so i didnt have to deal with it. CALLAHAN played a few more shows then headed back to BC.
with christmas approached the salon started to get super hectic and crazy, thinking i wasnt actually going home for chrismtas and it was pretty hard to deal with, having Jay Brown's birthday pass on the 15th I usually like to be home, visit Ogden Point(where his ashes were spread in the ocean) but luckily i have one of the best sisters in the world, and mothers, and there was a seat sale where a ticket was purchased for me but decided we wouldnt tell dad and just suprise him! so christmas eve roled around my flight was delayed but i was upgraded to first class, which ended up being unreallllll and so i suprised my dad christmas morning but sitting under the tree with a bow on my head yelling, OPEN ME FIRST!!! my daddy was shocked and tears happened and basically i ahd an amazing time. headed over to erins house and also suprised her, with her crying crying "i thought you were gona suprise me but when you didnt come to my dads dinner last night i knew you werent really coming" haha! suprise! i had a nice evening with eli one night, another nice night at erins stepdads show where i got to see julien !! and hungout with zach afterwards, flew back the next day which actually ended up taking 18 hours to get back.
once i got back, it was new years, went out for dinner with some girls from the salon then headed to robdyers i<3nye party. sealed with a kiss at midnight by james, my new boy :)

JANUARY2009
began with the dayglo abortions playing 2 nights on the 2nd and 3rd which was great to see willie and bonehead again it had been too long... the salon has now slowed down, thanks to a great new friend courtney(who i met through sarah-amalia) we were in the cancerbats new music video! that and james is moving into my building, 6 floors above me, so its the start to a new year, with someone beside me this time... :)

regardless of if i wrote about you or not, i want to thank everyone this year who has been in my life, it's been the best year i've ever had, and i can't for for 2009, thank you all so much! xoxo

going to see callahan playing at johnny b's wednesday night in whitby cause as a huge suprise to me, attended with kimbo, turned into a very drunken endover and somehow we all ended up staying at kims place. so, thursday morning kim and myself train to toronto, as the boys start heading to quebec city, only to find out at work their show was cancelled, so after work i head back to whitby again, and another night of rediculousness bby going to scratch in oshawa for 1$ BEERS?!?!?! ya... i know. and then the van wouldnt work when we were trying to get back and we did and had an amazing sleepover AGAIN but i was the first up and out this morning to train to toronto for work.
unfortunately half their tour in the maritimes was cancelled so theyll be in the toronto area until the 2nd, since they're playing at the bovine on the 2nd and kathedral on the 30th, so basically i have a lot of callahan time of 9 people in my tiny bachlor and im very excited about it. i love them so much.. being able to come to work and knowing ill see them affter makes me miss vancouver friends A LOT!

besides so much of the boys, me and steven decided to get married and he bought me a big ol diamond ring last night, suprised me and put it on my finger it was basically the cutest thing in the world and we're very happily married now. hahahaha, ahhh gotta love my life. considering how insane my next week is with tv show filming and greyston is here and blahblahblah.......... how about some photos of my amazing handsome gentlemen;

the last week has been insane.
saturday was CONTESSA awards, sunday went out all night or the other way around, i cant remember. it was nuts either way, both nights.
monday was loreal photoshoot- that i won! had dinner with ladies
tuesday at the salon, dinner with ladies
wednesday was at the salon AND i cut MARC ANTHONY'S WIFE'S HAIR Connie, which was very nerve racking but I DID IT!!!
thursday was at the salon then pete came over for hot tubbin, then mathew came over for veggie burgers,
friday salon then went to ACDC in the BOX! and CIRCA afterwards for crookers!

saturday was the salon then went to DJ Scratch which was actually an OBAMA party that i was terrified to be at haha, besides the fact that Dalida and Betty dressed me up all girly.

sunday was spent recovering/ organizing my new apartment still, AND SUNDAY NIGHT!!! i went to missisauga to have dinner with EDWIN JOHNSON. now for those of you who dont know, Edwin is an absolutely incredible hairstylist from Nanaimo, BC who has won Hairdresser of the Year, and this last weekend at the Contessa's he took home the Session Hairstylist of the year award!!! He's a huge inspiration to me and I was soo happy to join him for dinner and many drinks last night!
today! MONDAY i was up at 5am cause i was on set for the "MOM SHOW" doing makeovers, it was really fun, the episode wont air until about march.

then i work all week, repeat. sleep.
i love life, im so fucking happy holy shit i cant even believe it.

HALLOWEEN! evening was a nice evening, went to a few parties, my playboy bunny costume was quite a hit with just about everyone hahahaha...

NOVEMBER 1st! was the day i was really looking forward to, FASHIONCARES fashion show! for those of you who dont know, fashioncares is a huge annual aids benefit that mac cosmetics usually do! so this was huge, and being able to do hair for this was an amazing experience!

NOV SECOND, i had a barmitsfa(sp?) with brid in the morning wayyy to early, then went to the CONTESSA20 Hair Awards Dinner/Gala/Ceremony which was great, my reasoning for this is BECAUSE 1. I went with Dalida and Christina! 2.Edwin Johnston was there and i was so looking forward to meeting up and him remembering my name was amazing! 3. Christopher Deagle who is an amazing stylist from Moods Salon in Vancouver was on the first season of SuperstarHairChallenge and was eliminated for being the younges one on the show at only 3 months experience, but last night he won BC HAIRDRESSER OF THE YEAR! i was so, so, impressed and inspired..... gotta love the young ones. the afterparty got crazy hahaha.

TODAY was the in-salon l'oreal thriller color concept competition, which i competed in with Natasha and Matthew and we WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yayyyyy!!!!!!!!!! photos will be up soon!!

so leading up to the end of october before all of that was quite crazy, had my first radio interview about my career and life which was rad, thanks kait for that!
misery signals were here about two weeks ago so that was nice to see kyle, glad he'll be back in the beginning of december!
then i moved into my new place, which is amazing, off of queen street west, and glad that peter just moved a block away and matthew got a second job cooking at a restaurant a block away, so good to have friends around. not to mention a hot tub, sauna, gym, billiards room, and free wifi, HECK YA ILL UPDATING MORE!

so yesterday i was thinking to myself, really? like.... really?
let me ask you people a question,
if i loved you, and gave you everything i possibly could, and it didn't workout but we still talked about how we love each other and possible skateboard bearing wedding rings, and then you dissapear from my life for months with no explination other then "sorry i've been busy" and obviously i can't say much about that, just, please keep in touch.

so a trip is planned for me to come see you and the end result of this is me having to "come visit me at work"

is it wrong for me to be angry or upset about this?
am i crazy, is it just me? or is this person really an arrogant asshole who should be slapped?

surprise, i went home!

so for my moms birthday i figure what better present could there be then myself? saturday after work took a flight to vancouver, after jagoda picked me up from the airport i had to do only what i did last before i moved away, nachos at the foundation. it felt so weird being there but at the same time felt like i never left.
sunday morning i show up at my moms place in victoria, mom is in shock and cries her face off, spent the day with mom dad and erin. had a nice birthday dinner, cut mom and erins hair off, then ventured to matthew cecill's house for the night!
monday morning after a struggle from getting out of bed at matts i managed to make it down to have breakfast with erin before heading down to see gerry at tattoo zoo for some more work on my chest! 2.5hrs later, and ow. the evening was nice, after cutting matthews hair the two of us headed down to the pub to have a drink with my mom and dad, then bbq! then beer and the hockey game with old friends! then meeting derek for a drink and nice chat, who i miss sooo muchhh.... ohh he doesnt even realize it! then lucky bar.. and wow what a bust that was, i couldnt believe the freshly turned 19 year olds basically so drunk theyre having sex on the dance floor. discusting. i left quite early, just went to matt's house for my last evening in victoriaaaaa! so sad!
tuesday, TUESDAY BACK TO VAN CITY!!!!!!
went for lunch at whitespot with jagoda, had a delicious bc burger. went to axis, saw everyone, then went with ben to see everyone at axis training school, was treated like i was some celebrity, it was pretty hilarious. then went up to visit justin benson at work, really nice to see his cute lil face, then tuesday night a bunch of friends met up at the morrissey, so good to see everyone and thanks to everyone for coming out. so happy john and dustin came, love them. wednesday i hungout with jagoda, saw colleen for some accupuncture, had a nice visit with jeff, then chris revill and steve, got some rad callahan underwear, and went for dinner with ben and his mom nancy. stuffed my face with baked brie thanks to jagoda when returning from delicious dinner at cactus club, and off the the airport after that. but before i fly home, who better to go say goodbye to then once again, justin benson.

i miss all my friends, not vancouver. but i do miss victoria. it was nice to visit, but defintily made me happy to be in toronto.
also taking nancy's advice and bought a book, 'skinny bitch' and am now vegetarian, never thought i'd ever be, and am pplanning on slowly turning vegan, i do love my cheese. but now knowing how its made and what's really in it, ehhh..... fake cheese seems more appealing.

spending too much time with mathew recently, and am now getting into bikes, for real. so he's helping me build a sweet custom hipster (hey- at least i can admit it) fixie, but with one lil black brake, just until im comfortable with NO BRAKES!
so far, ive got my schwinn super champion frame, in a nice gun metal blue, and, for obv. reasons baby blue grips. ill be ordering my baby blue velocity rims next week, and im just so excited!

besides bikes, sarah-amalia is now living with me, and we also have jonny and e.r. visiting from kentucky, not to mention daisy will be here on monday from vancouver, and my sister from montreal later in the month. so ive been super stressed, unorganized, and flustered when i am not at the salon.

as many of you know, i moved to toronto for an apprenticeship at vidal sassoon, thinking this is what i want to do. realizing while i was there it really isnt me, and being unhappy with work, i knew this is not me hating waking up to go to work, so i have left the company and marc anthony has taken me under his wing!

within the next few weeks i have no idea what is about to unfold in my life but am very very excited.

thanks to everyone for all the support throughout the show, i appreciate all the fanmail i have received. never in my life did i think i would reach this point, and yet it's still all up hill from here.

i will continue to inspire, and be inspired.

i just want to thank everyone who has been keeping up with the show! we're only on the 3rd episode, and things are about to get even better then this! I PROMISE THIS!!

alright everyone, so this is it, the premier party for superstar hair challenge, will be at TORTILLA FLATS (classy, i know!) which is a sweet pad with tvs, patio for smokers, parking, and located downtown toronto on queen st west, and augusta st., which is 2 blocks to bathurst st on the east side! it will be a cash&carry event, meaning you pay for your drink/food when you get it so there will not be any group bills.
